The purpose of conducting random student drug testing is to enforce a drug-free educational environment, deter students’ use of illegal drugs, and to educate students regarding the harm caused by the use of illegal drugs.
Liberty Hill Independent School District has chosen Melody’s Southwest Consortium, hereinafter referred to as Consortium, to conduct random student drug tests for high school students, 9th - 12th grades. Random urine testing will begin in September of 2019. Melody’s Southwest Consortium will send certified technicians to Liberty Hill High School to perform these tests.
Those subject to testing are any student in extracurricular activities, including but are not limited to: UIL athletics, band, cheerleading, choir, theater, dance, FFA, FCCLA, DECA, Student Council, National Honor Society, or those who have a high school campus parking permit.
